LeBron James has been the face of the NBA for over two decades now. He stepped into the league at 18 years old and was the No. 1 overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003.

He ended up playing 11 seasons with the Cavaliers, notching 10 All-Star Game appearances and bringing the first-ever NBA Championship to Cleveland in 2016. We can't forget he's the All-Time scoring leader, four-time NBA Champion, and four-time MVP.

James is known for being the 'defacto GM' wherever he goes but he's earned that right. He's been the top player in the game and has performed on the biggest stage.

Despite all his success, the latest report coming out of Cleveland will pinch a nerve.

Donovan Mitchell Reportedly Has More Influence With the Cavs Than LeBron James Has With Lakers

ESPN's Brian Windhorst was a guest on the 'The Really Big Show' and talked about Donovan Mitchell's power within the Cavs organization and gave a pretty eye-opening statement.

Windhorst said, "What Donovan has with the Cavs is what LeBron has with the Lakers, in fact it might even be stronger because the Lakers have another superstar player on their roster bonafide and LeBron is about to turn 40."

This isn't something that would have LeBron thrilled. Although James will be entering his 22nd season in the NBA, he's still one of the best players in the NBA.

During the 2023-24 season, he averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game in 35 minutes of action.

We know that Mitchell is a top playmaker in the league and is only 27 years old but he hasn't made it past the second round of the playoffs in his career yet.

Not to mention that he hasn't been named to an All-NBA First Team or secured an MVP award. Mitchell having more power with the Cavs than LeBron has with the Lakers is wild to think about but apparently that's the reality we live in.
