The Los Angeles Chargers have new leadership at the top with Jim Harbaugh and Joe Hortiz running the ship. They may be going through a transition phase in 2024 but one thing that's for certain is divisional matchups will be personal.

The Chargers are going to battle against the Las Vegas Raiders twice this season, including the season opener against the Silver and Black on Sept. 8 at SoFi Stadium.

The last matchup between these teams was the nail in the coffin for the Brandon Staley era. On Dec. 14, 2023, the Raiders blew out Los Angeles 63-21. Staley was let go after this loss. Now heading into this season, some Chargers players will want revenge for that embarrassing loss. In addition to that, wide receiver DaVante Adams added more fuel to the fire.

Chargers News: Davante Adams Calls Out Chargers Social Media Team

Adams was a guest on the 'Up and Adams Show' hosted by Kay Adams and he discussed how the Chargers threw shade at him when the schedule was released.

He said, "A few of the social media pages were posting some funny stuff when the schedule was released. They posted me and like a trash can or something like that... This is directly, strictly to the Chargers' social media page, please keep my name out of your mouth."

The 31-year-old also said he dominated the Chargers in his first matchups against them in 2022. He racked up 18 receptions (29 targets) for 318 yards and three touchdowns.

The Chargers wasted no time responding to Adams on social media, taking another jab at Adams.

One thing that's for sure is these battles against the Raiders will have even more juice and intrigue. Division rivals never like each other and that's normal. The extra drama surrounding Adams and the Chargers takes things to the next level.
