The Los Angeles Rams have a lot to build off of rolling into 2024. Many NFL experts didn't think the Rams would be competitive but they were mistaken. Los Angeles ended up going 10-7 and notched a Wild Card appearance.

There is a lot of optimism for the Rams and they hold the No. 19 overall pick in the 2024 Draft. NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has Los Angeles adding a difference maker on the defensive side.

NFL Mock Draft: Kiper Has the Rams Selecting FSU Defensive End Jared Verse

ESPN Draft Expert Mel Kiper Jr. released his first mock draft on ESPN+ (subscription needed). Kiper Jr. has Los Angeles picking defensive end Jared Verse with the No. 19 overall pick. The potential addition of Verse would help bolster the Rams' defensive front.

In 2023, Los Angeles was 29th in the NFL in team sacks (41) and could use an influx of juice off the edge. Also, no player on the Rams recorded double-digit sacks this past year.

Verse has a quick get-off with a good bend coming around the corner. The 23-year-old has the strength and play recognition to shed blocks as well. In his two seasons at Florida State, Verse recorded 88 total tackles and 18 sacks.

Byron Young and Kobie Turner both made impacts in their rookie campaigns in 2023, logging at least eight sacks on the year. We can't forget about the eight-time All-Pro Aaron Donald in the middle of the defensive line. A combination of these dudes rushing the passer would drastically benefit the Rams' defense.
