The Los Angeles Rams' season might have ended in disappointment after the 24-23 loss to the Detroit Lions in the NFC Wild Card matchup, but for some of its members, it could be a new beginning. One of those names is defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, who is already attracting plenty of interest around the league.

Rams News: Raheem Morris Attracts Significant Interest

The Seattle Seahawks, who recently fired their Super Bowl-winning head coach Pete Carroll, reportedly have a long list of defensive-minded assistant coaches that they are considering as Carroll's replacement. This includes the Cowboys coordinator Dan Quinn, Panthers coordinator Ejiro Evero, and as Adam Schefter reported, Raheem Morris of the Rams.

Morris was previously reported to be on the shortlist of head coaching candidates for the Washington Commanders, who already requested an interview with him, as well as the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite an unsuccessful first stint as a head coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers between 2009 and 2011, Morris has been able to rebuild his reputation as an assistant with the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams.

Even though Morris was hired as a defensive coordinator in 2021 and helped the Rams win a Super Bowl in his first season, his most impressive performance came this season. Despite the fact that the Rams offloaded their best defensive players in the offseason and replaced them with inexperienced young players, Morris was able to put together a successful defensive unit.

With seven head coach openings, and Morris drawing plenty of interest, it wouldn't be surprising if the 47-year-old left the Rams this offseason. This would certainly hurt Sean McVay and the Rams, but there is one silver lining.

According to the league policy on "Equal Employment and Workplace Diversity", the Rams would receive additional third-round draft picks in each of the next two NFL drafts. These could come in handy as the Rams are trying to upgrade their roster to make their way back to the Super Bowl over the next few years.
