The Los Angeles Rams got back to their winning ways in 2023, logging a 10-7 record and clinched a playoff berth. Even though they were sent packing in the first round, they had a lot to build off of.

General manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay were aggressive once again this offseason to improve the team. In free agency, they signed Kevin Dotson and Jonah Jackson to bolster the trenches before pivoting to defense.

They added Kamren Curl, Darious Williams, and Tre'Davious White to address the secondary. When the NFL Draft came around, Los Angeles wanted to keep their foot on the gas and attempted to make a massive trade.

Rams News: Los Angeles Tried to Trade With the New York Jets

In a documentary called "NFL Draft: The Pick Is In", there is a video clip that shows Les Snead calling New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas.

The Rams offered New York picks 19, 52, and 99 in exchange for picks 11 and 185. Los Angeles was looking to move up for Georgia tight end Brock Bowers.

The Athletic's Dianna Russini reported back in April that the Rams were looking to move into the top 10 for a "specific player" and that guy was Bowers.

That is certainly a haul to give up but the Rams have never been scared to move off picks. This year was the first time that Los Angeles had a first-round pick since 2016.

Meanwhile, Bowers was a dynamic and explosive playmaker in college. He has the versatility to line up all across the formation and McVay wanted to add him to an already stacked offense.

Despite their attempt to move up, their offer was declined and they stayed pat to select Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, Blake Corum, and Kamren Kinchens in the first three rounds.
