Shohei Ohtani Dodgers Debut Date Revealed
By Jovan Alford
The wait is almost over for Los Angeles Dodgers fans as two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani is close to making his highly-anticipated Spring Training debut. Ohtani will take the field with his new team on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, AZ, per Patrick Lyons.
Ohtani signed a mega 10-year, $700 million deal in December with the Dodgers after spending the first six years of his major league career with the Los Angeles Angels. The two-time AL MVP has been destroying pitches in batting practice during camp, but fans have yet to see it against opposing pitchers.
With Ohtani in the fold, the Dodgers are viewed as the overwhelming favorites to win the World Series (+320 on FanDuel Sportsbook). Baseball fans will also get their first opportunity to see what the top of the Dodgers’ batting order will look like with Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts, and Ohtani.
Los Angeles’ offense has already been clicking on all cylinders in Spring Training without Ohtani, as they scored 14 runs last week in their opening game against the San Diego Padres. It will be fun to see Ohtani back in action, as the last time we saw him on the field was in September.
