The storylines that have developed throughout the season have been top-notch. One of the biggest headlines took place in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

The No. 7 seed Los Angeles Rams went to Ford Field to play the No. 2 seed Detroit Lions. Matthew Stafford returned to Detroit for the first time since being dealt. Jared Goff played against the team that drafted him No. 1 overall. Everything heading into the contest was exciting and the matchup didn't disappoint.

The Lions ended up defeating the Rams 24-23. Both quarterbacks showed out in the affair. Goff went 22-of-27 for 277 yards and one passing touchdown in the victory. On the opposite side, Stafford was 25-of-36 for 367 yards with two passing scores.

These two signal callers embraced at the end of the game and Stafford let Goff know that he's rooting for them for the rest of the playoffs.

Even though they loudly booed him during the Wild Card tilt, Stafford will always have love for the city. Stafford spent the first 12 years of his career in Detroit before he was shipped to Los Angeles.

Detroit's win over the Rams was their first playoff victory since 1992. They will now host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Divisional Round. The Lions will have Motor City fully behind them but they won't be only ones. Stafford will have a close eye on his former club for the remainder of the postseason and hopes they can take home the Lombardi Trophy.
