Think LeBron gets a lot of flack for winning rings on "super teams" now? Imagine what people would say if he joined Steph Curry and won another.

LeBron's visible and public frustration ahead of the trade deadline made that an actual possibility, according to the latest reports from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Lakers Rumors: Warriors Called About LeBron Trade at the Deadline

Woj reports that Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob made the call to Lakers owner Jeanie Buss to try opening trade talks after seeing LeBron's public frustration.

Buss did give the call some genuine thought though. Rather than an immediate "no", she suggested Lacob reach out to James' agent Rich Paul to guage how happy LeBron was in L.A. and whether he was interested in a trade.

That was the end of the road. Paul informed Lacob (and Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr.) that LeBron wanted to stay in L.A. and had no interested in a trade. Lakers GM Rob Pelinka was also adamant that the team wanted to keep James.

Another interesting note is where the push was coming in Golden State — Draymond Green had pressured Lacob to make the call, and had also been petitioning Rich Paul (who also represents Dray) to push for LeBron to come to Golden State.

This situation goes to show how much the NBA media overreacts to things though. LeBron tweeted an hour glass emoji, and suddenly everyone was acting like he wanted to leave the Lakers. Meanwhile, behind the scenes he had a chance to explore leaving and gave a definitive "no."

Time will tell what the offseason brings for LeBron and the Lakers, but for now his attention is 100% on the task at hand while L.A. stares down heavy underdog odds (+3000) to win the Western Conference.
