The Los Angeles Chargers have their hands full after shuffling the roster around this offseason. That isn't really shocking or surprising as Jim Harbaugh is now in charge and looks to make this a competitive roster.

The Chargers decided they didn't want to extend either Keenan Allen or Mike Williams this offseason, which led to both guys leaving town.

They also had Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack take a pay cut for the 2024 season. The Chargers now have four players who will make $19 million plus for the upcoming campaign, which is a good place to be in. But that doesn't mean other guys aren't looking to cash in and cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. is the latest player to express that.

Chargers News: Asante Samuel Jr. Wants New Deal with Chargers

Kay Adams has been around the country visiting training camps. She is now in Los Angeles at training camp with the Chargers.

Adams had Samuel Jr. as a guest on the "Up & Adams" show and she asked him about his contract situation.

The Florida State product responded by saying, "I love the Chargers... I hope they keep me."

He added that he's focused on this season and looking to help the team. That's the exact answer you want to hear but he didn't shy away from saying where he wants to be long term.

The 24-year-old was selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft and has been a very solid player for the Bolts.

Across the last three seasons, Samuel Jr. finished with 163 total tackles, 35 pass deflections, and six interceptions. He's snagged two interceptions in three straight years, showcasing his ability to take the ball away. Last season, he recorded a career-high 73.9 overall PFF grade.

Now that he's heading into the last year of his rookie deal, the young corner would love to stay in Los Angeles and he's let management know. The ball is now in their court.
