The Los Angeles Rams made the playoffs for the sixth time under Sean McVay. In 2024, they went 10-7 and were eliminated in the Divisional Round.

While they were able to make it to the playoffs, receiver Cooper Kupp faded out of the offensive game plan. Puka Nucua is the future of the Rams' passing attack, leading to Kupp posting online that the Rams informed him that they'll begin looking at trade partners to move on from the 31-year-old.

Kupp has dealt with injuries over the last three seasons while also owning a large cap hit over the next two seasons. That would be a roadblock in trade negotiations but the latest report revealed that the Rams would be willing to eat some of Kupp's salary to help facilitate a trade.

Rams News: Rams Willing to Pay Some of Cooper Kupp’s Salary

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said, "My understanding is the Rams are at least willing to eat some of the money, potentially paying down the $7.5 million signing bonus which, a lot of that is fully guaranteed for Kupp, maybe easing the burden on an acquiring team, maybe making a trade a little easier."

Kupp has a $29.7 million cap hit in 2025 with a $7.5 million roster bonus that is due in March. He's also on the books for $27 million for the 2026 season.

That's a lot of money for a receiver who will be 32 years old by the time the season kicks off. Eating some of the money will certainly help in trade talks.

Kupp hasn't been able to play a full season since 2021. Over the last three years, he's missed games due to foot, ankle, and hamstring injuries.

This combination of injuries impacted his production on the field. Kupp hasn't finished with more than 812 yards since being the triple-crown winner during the 2021 campaign.

There will be teams calling Los Angeles regarding Kupp, and this update can help them fetch more in a trade.
