The Los Angeles Rams' first week of free agency was eventful, to say the least. Although the team didn't make the most signings in the league, the Rams improved their outlook by signing impact players like wideout Davante Adams and defensive tackle Poona Ford, leaving fans to wonder what moves general manager Les Snead has planned next.
Well, it turns out that the Rams fanbase didn't have to wait long for the next shoe to drop.
Rams Re-Sign RB/ST Ronnie Rivers on Sunday
The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue is reporting that the Rams have re-signed running back and special teams contributor Ronnie Rivers. Rodrigue that one of her sources indicated that the new contract will be for the 2025 season only.

Rivers, 26, began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. The former Fresno State Bulldog was released following his preseason debut only to be signed by the Seattle Seahawks less than two weeks later.
Rivers' time with the Seahawks lasted four days, ending with his being waived shortly before the 2022 campaign began. Fortunately, he wasn't out of work for long because the Rams added the Castro Valley, CA native to their practice squad two weeks into the regular season.
Since then, Rivers has appeared in 34 games (2 starts) with the Rams across the last three seasons. He's turned 63 carries into 249 rushing yards (4.0 yards per carry) while converting 15 receptions in 85 receiving yards as he continues to look for his first career NFL touchdown.
Rivers has also made his presence felt as a special teamer, including when he played a career-high 248 special teams snaps in 2024. The increased playing time resulted in four tackles, including two solo efforts.
The Rams already have RBs Kyren Williams, Blake Corum, and Cody Schrader under contract for the 2025 campaign, meaning Rivers is likely looking at another special teams-filled season. Having said that, McVay could also call the veteran runner's number if any backfield-related injuries arise.
In the meantime, the Rams will head into Week 2 of NFL free agency tied for the ninth-best Super Bowl 60 odds (+2300) on FanDuel Sportsbook. Only time will tell if Rivers' new contract will motivate him enough to help L.A. capitalize on those odds.
