Rams Cutting Veteran Specialist as They Prepare for Playoff Push
By Jovan Alford
The Los Angeles Rams are coming off a solid six-point road win over the New England Patriots on Sunday and are now back at home to prepare for an NFC clash against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 12.
The Rams seem to be hitting their stride, winning four out of their last five games after starting a dismal 1-4. Los Angeles understands what is ahead of them as they can still win the NFC West, but they must take care of business against the Eagles.
But first, the Rams made a small change to their practice squad ahead of their SNF battle. On Tuesday, the team announced that they’ve waived punter Ty Zentner.
The 26-year-old Zentner appeared in the Rams’ Week 9 win over the Seattle Seahawks. The former Kansas State specialist punted the ball several times, averaging 40.1 yards per punt.
Among his seven punts, Zentner had three that went inside the 20 yards and one that was blocked. Zentner was signed to the Rams’ practice at the beginning of November after getting waived by the Tennessee Titans ahead of the 53-man roster cutdown in August.
Zentner spent his rookie season in 2023 with the Titans and Houston Texans, appearing in nine games. The former Kansas State punter went undrafted following the 2023 NFL Draft but was signed as an UDFA by the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, Philadelphia waived Zentner after losing a camp battle to Arryn Siposs, which allowed him to find his next opportunity with the Texans.
