The Los Angeles Rams have done a good job finding talent in the last two NFL drafts. Despite not having a first-round pick in 2023, the Rams found a few bonafide starters in Byron Young (third-round pick), Kobie Turner (third-round pick), and Puka Nacua (fifth-round pick).

Then in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Rams hit the jackpot again, drafting Jared Verse (first-round pick), Braden Fiske (second-round pick), and Kamren Kitchens (third-round pick). Los Angeles will have a first-round pick for the 2025 NFL Draft and hope to find another starter.

Given how they drafted over the last few years, the Rams could use their first-round pick on a quarterback. Starting QB Matthew Stafford is 36 years old and is still under contract for two more years, but the Rams have a potential out in 2025.

Los Angeles has Stetson Bennett on the roster as Stafford’s backup, but based on his showing in the preseason this summer, he’s not ready to be the heir apparent. Luckily for the Rams, the 2025 draft class will have an abundance of QBs to choose from.

In Matt Miller’s latest 2025 mock draft on ESPN.com, the draft analyst has Los Angeles going after another Georgia quarterback -- Carson Beck with the No. 18 overall pick.

"“Matthew Stafford will turn 37 before the 2025 draft, putting his status in year-to-year mode from this point forward. So the Rams should turn over every stone to find their QB of the future. They were linked to Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix before the 2024 draft, but both were off the board before their pick. Los Angeles could be the beneficiary of Beck's stock dropping. Beck has thrown 12 interceptions, and his accuracy has suffered without Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, but he has a strong arm, the ability to make full-field reads and upside. The consensus in talking to scouts this week was that Beck could get himself back into mid-Round 1 consideration with a strong finish -- which is what we're projecting here due to the supply and demand at the position.”"

With Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward likely off the board, there will be a lot of discussion on who will be QB3 in the 2025 class. Depending on where the Rams find themselves in the spring, they could choose between Beck or Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.

Heading into this season, Beck was viewed as QB1 but has struggled mightily as Miller pointed out. The 6-foot-4 senior QB has completed a disappointing 65.1 percent of his passes for 2,835 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

The good news for Beck is he can still change the narrative about himself with a strong performance down the stretch for Georgia. As for his skillset, Rams head coach Sean McVay could make it work with Beck as we’ve seen him turn around Baker Mayfield’s career.

The Rams won’t be pressed to take a quarterback early, but if they find the right guy, do not put it past them to take one in the first round.
