Rams Vet Likely Has Already Played His Final Game for Los Angeles
By Jovan Alford
With the NFL trade deadline less than 24 hours away, it seems likely that Los Angeles Rams cornerback Tre’Davious White will be on the move. The veteran cornerback had his name come up in trade rumors after the Rams’ Week 8 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
On Oct. 26, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that the Rams and White were discussing options for his future, including a potential trade. Fowler added the veteran defensive back has been inactive, but Los Angeles is open to keeping him since things can change.
The 29-year-old cornerback hasn’t been on the field since Week 4 against the Chicago Bears. White has been inactive for the Rams’ last four games, including their Week 9 overtime win over the Seattle Seahawks.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported over the weekend that the Rams are trying to move the veteran cornerback. Los Angeles signed White to a one-year, $4.25 million deal after the Buffalo Bills released him earlier in the offseason.
White only played in 10 games with the Bills over the last two years because of injury, so the Rams signing him in the offseason looked like a great opportunity.
However, things haven’t gone to plan for White, who has 12 combined tackles and two pass deflections in four games. He also possesses a ridiculously high 138.4 pass rating allowed when targeted and has given up four receiving touchdowns.
A few teams would love to add White at the trade deadline, but given his play this season, the Rams may not get much in return for the former Pro Bowl cornerback.
