The Rams suffered their second loss in the last three games in embarrassing fashion on Sunday Night Football, getting blown out by the Eagles 37-20 behind a career night from Saquon Barkley.

Sitting at 5-6, they'll now travel to New Orleans to face a 4-7 Saints team with two straight wins. The opening odds from FanDuel Sportsbook suggest this'll be a close contest. If the Rams aren't careful, they could find themselves virtually eliminated from the playoffs.

They could win out and sneak in but for all intents and purposes, the Rams need to beat the Saints and keep their hopes alive.

Rams vs. Saints Opening Odds Suggest Close Game

  • Spread: Rams -2.5 (-115) | Saints +2.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline: Rams (-142) | Saints (+120)
  • Total: 47.5 (Over -105 | Under -115)

The Saints do have two straight wins after firing head coach Dennis Allen, though they failed to cover the spread in five consecutive contests prior to that. They're playing better football but there's no reason that Los Angeles shouldn't go into New Orleans and pull off a win.

While the Eagles loss hurt, the Rams could put themselves back into the playoff race with a win. The schedule gets significantly harder after Week 13 with matchups against the Bills and 49ers ahead. Unless they sweep those games, the Rams simply cannot afford to lose to the Saints.

Moneyline odds of -142 gives the Rams a 58.38% implied probability to win. With Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua, and an excellent defensive line, those odds feel low. The Rams beat the Saints 30-22 last season and need a similar effort this week.

With wins in both of their last two road games, Los Angeles has the roster and coaching advantage. It's a massive game obviously, so Sean McVay will have his group ready to roll.
