The Los Angeles Rams won their third straight game on Thursday to improve to 8-6 for the season. They are continuing their chase for the NFC West title or a wild card spot with three games left. With two home games and a visit to New York to face the Jets remaining on schedule, the Rams should feel pretty good about their chances.

Earlier this week, the Rams were given a chance to reunite with a beloved former player. Odell Beckham Jr., who spent the second half of the 2021 season with the Rams and won a Super Bowl, was recently released by the Miami Dolphins.

Considering how well signing OBJ mid-season worked out for the Rams the first time around, there was speculation about whether they would be interested in bringing back the former All-Pro receiver. Head coach Sean McVay was asked about the possibility during a videoconference with the media, per Yahoo! Sports reporter Gary Klein.

McVay couldn't hide his affection for Beckham, who said the star receiver crashed his wedding in 2022 and the two have a close relationship. However, he was non-committal about the idea of bringing him back to Los Angeles.

"I don't know. The love I have for Odell, you know that. Just waking up, kind of getting ready for what's next for us and focusing on this. I’m not really sure about him. I've had a lot of other things that we're kind of focused on right now."

If we take McVay at his word, it doesn't sound like he thought much about the possibility. And it's not like the Rams are in desperate need of a wide receiver. They have Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp back and healthy, and Demarcus Robinson and Tutu Atwell have performed admirably in their absence, both players on their way to having career-best production.

Plus, how much OBJ can contribute at this stage of his career is unclear. He was seldom used in Miami this season, getting 18 targets in nine games and recording nine catches for 55 yards.

There is a chance he could bounce back in Los Angeles but whether that is a smart move for Beckham or the Rams is debatable.
