The Los Angeles Rams prevailed Saturday night despite a second-half charge by the Arizona Cardinals to move to 10-6 on the year. A five-game winning streak by Sean McVay's team has them on the doorstep of officially returning to the playoffs despite numerous obstacles throughout the 2024 campaign.

Perhaps the biggest thorn in Los Angeles' side has been its battle with injuries, which continued into Week 17, as top offensive lineman Rob Havenstein was held out of Saturday's contest due to an ailing shoulder.

Though the Rams got by without him, fans are desperate to know his status, especially with the postseason now the big priority. Luckily, McVay had some good news to share on that front Sunday morning.

L.A.'s head coach told reporters Havenstein was "close" to being healthy enough to take the field against Arizona. McVay added it was a "freak" practice injury that led to the right tackle's absence, but it he didn't sound too concerned about the vet ahead of Week 18.

Overall, this is a pretty positive update on veteran. The Rams' HC doesn't appeared worried about the tackle, which sets the stage for him to be ready to suit up for the playoffs, and even Week 18 if his recovery goes well.

This campiagn certainly has been a challenge for the 32-year-old in the health department. An ankle issue prevented him from playing in the season opener, and he then missed another three games from Weeks 11-13 because of the same problem.

All that matters now, though, is he's ready to go for the postseason, and it sounds like that'll be the case. He'll look to help hold down L.A.'s offensive line and give this high-octane attack a chance to outscore opponents in the playoffs while blocking for the likes of Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and Kyren Williams.
