Sean McVay Gives Tyler Higbee Amazing Gift After Rams Return in Week 16
The Los Angeles Rams' winning ways simply couldn't be stopped on Sunday, as Sean McVay led his team to a fourth straight victory and their fifth over their past six outings. Los Angeles didn't have an explosive afternoon in Week 16, but it still found a way to grind out another win, this time in frigid temperatures on the road against the New York Jets.
L.A.'s victory was fueled by a successful fourth quarter after the Rams entered the period trailing 9-6. A pair of Joshua Karty field goals helped Los Angeles close things out, but it was tight end Tyler Higbee -- who was making his 2024 season debut versus New York -- that hauled in the go-ahead touchdown that pushed his squad ahead for good.
This game was something out of a movie for the playmaking TE, who missed Los Angeles' first 14 contests while rehabbing back from a torn ACL suffered this past January. To make his day even more special, though, McVay had a gift for Higbee following the victory.
During his postgame victory speech, McVay shouted out the defense and members of the team who had previously worked for the Jets. But the head coach's final game ball went to none other than Higbee; McVay even noted it's the most excited he's ever seen a group in terms of another player scoring a touchdown.
The TE's teammates then erupted, and Higbee took the floor to say he believes this squad has something "special" on its side. Plenty of players in the crowd agreed before mobbing him and chanting "Higbee! Higbee!" to close out the postgame celebration.
This incredible moment shows the exact excitement McVay referenced. It's obvious every player is entirely bought in to helping this team finds ways to win, and they're clearly thrilled to have another legitimate weapon back on the field for them.
