The first round series featuring the Clippers vs Jazz is going the distance.

This Clippers vs Jazz series is going to Game 7 for all of the marbles.

Considering all of the questions that the Clippers face this coming off-season, it’s only fitting to have things go this route. The Jazz missed a chance to eliminate Los Angeles on Friday night, and now the series goes back to Staples Center.

Sunday will be a crucial day in Clippers history. If they win, it’ll be a breath of fresh air. Finally a chance to prove they can win and move past the first round.

A loss, however, means the worst is yet to come. Considering that Blake Griffin could be done with his Clippers career and Chris Paul could option out of his contract, it’s not a good place to be.

Also, for the core that they have, they should’ve competed for a title already. There’s no excuses when you have all of that talent in one place.

Chris Paul is one of the best point guards in the league. DeAndre Jordan is a force down low. Even their bench is efficient enough to get the job done.

So why can’t they figure it out?

One answer could be Doc Rivers. Despite championship experience with the Boston Celtics, it’s been a different story for him in Los Angeles.

Should the Clippers retain their best players, they could still see serious changes to the coaching staff. At some point, the responsibility of getting or failing to get to a certain goal or make progress falls on the coach.

It’s not scapegoating Doc Rivers, it’s just how it is. That might be what they need at this point in time, but with so many unknowns, Game 7 will keep all Clippers fans on their toes.
