Frank Vogel, despite the collapse from his Indiana Pacers this season, is one of the brightest young coaches in the NBA. However, it looks like he may lose his job if the Pacers can’t get out of the first round, despite having the best record in the Eastern Conference. No one really knows what is going on with that team, but it’s fair to place a significant amount of blame on Vogel.
That being said, the Pacers have improved every year under Vogel and he took the Heat to a Game 7 in the Eastern Conference Finals last season. He’s going to be an NBA coach next season and will likely interview for the Lakers. However, he most likely will not get the job because he’s a defensive minded coach and, after what’s happened to the Pacers at the end of the season, would likely be a tough sell to Laker fans.
