There’s always a knock on Kevin Hogan. It goes something like this: “He’s boring, he doesn’t do anything to make the team better, he’s the classic game manager, I don’t like him”. That’s fair, especially considering he only threw for 2,600 yards and 20 TD’s last year along with 10 INT’s and an infuriating performance in the Rose Bowl against Michigan State.

But then you sit back and realize that he’s 16-3 as a QB for Stanford with a 10-1 record against AP Top-25 opponents. He’s beaten Oregon twice, once at home an once in Eugene. Oh, by the way, the Ducks were undefeated going into both of those games (it’s ok, I’m not bitter or anything).

Hogan, performance wise, probably shouldn’t crack the Top-8 of our list. But there’s something to be said for being a winner. Actually there’s a lot to be said for being a winner.
