Putting Halliday 7th is more of a testament to Mike Leach and his system than to Halliday. Anyone can pass under Mike Leach. Halliday threw the ball 714 times last season, first in the FBS. He racked up 4,500+ passing yards and 34 Touchdowns.

Pretty good numbers, right? Well, if you take into account that he also threw 22 INT’s it doesn’t look so good anymore. Neither does the 6.44 yard per attempt. Then take into account he got sacked 34 times and we’re starting to really get scared.

He’s going to improve in his fourth year as starter and in his second under Leach. He’s definitely going to lead the Pac-12 in attempts and probably in TD’s. Is he a great QB? No. Is he a competent QB who may be able to win a few games for Wazzu? Yes.
