Jimmy Butler Becoming Part Of The Lakers Would Be A Beautiful Sight

The Los Angeles Lakers clearly have their sights on the rebuilding process and are inching each day closer to the reality that they are going to have to get past the Kobe Bryant era after next season comes to a close.

If you look at the additions or diamonds in the rough that Los Angeles has at its disposal, the future looks to be only bright for the purple and gold.

Jordan Clarkson turned into a magician given his time in the spotlight and proved that he could be the key to getting the Lakers back to their prior glory.

Plus, knowing that the expectations have never been light on the Lakers, we shouldn’t expect them to be down in the dumps forever.

I mean all those titles speak for themselves, don’t they?

Well, the Lakers are thinking about adding another huge weapon to their arsenal — Jimmy Butler.

Currently with the Chicago Bulls, Butler has played ‘Robin’ to Derrick Rose’s ‘Batman’ role and has helped the Bulls come back to being worth the hype come playoff time.

Butler ended up being this year’s Most Improved Player and his stats back it up pretty nicely.

He really caught national attention last year when Derrick Rose was notably either not himself or not on the court for the Bulls but in 2015 took his approach to basketball leaps and bounds to a new level.

In 2013-14, Butler averaged 13 points per game with five rebounds, two assists, and shooting 28% from three point range.

    And then came this season.

In this past regular season, Butler put up astoundingly impressive and improved numbers.

He now boasts a 20 points per game average with three assists and six rebounds to his name including a 38% accuracy mark from beyond-the-arc.

Adding Butler would not only help the Lakers from a perimeter perspective, but Butler’s ability to both guard and hang with someone like LeBron James constantly means that having to defend big-name stars wouldn’t be an issue moving west.

By that, of course, I’m referring to guys like Chris Paul and oh, I don’t know…oh yeah, Steph Curry.

But that’s next season, so let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

What will be interesting to see is if Chicago’s playoff run will continue to the Conference Finals against either the Atlanta Hawks or Washington Wizards — and of that run, how big Butler can be a part of it.

Bottom Line: If Butler helped redeem Chicago, let’s let him help Los Angeles

Because as of now (for obvious reasons), Derrick Rose is stealing the show.

And the only thing that would really make Jimmy Butler’s performances even more memorable or eye-popping would be if he were making a return, like Rose is, off of a constant injury bug and years upon years of anxiety and anticipation for this moment that’s finally here.

Time to let the basketball speak for itself.
