Yup, you guessed it.

The Lakers and Celtics met again for another insane showdown on basketball’s biggest stage, but this time with new faces.

Instead of names like Magic Johnson or James Worthy, the Lakers had Kobe Bryant — a man on a mission with no intent to look back any time soon.

This series had a lot of similarity to the 1985 match up between these two clubs, as it was coming shortly after a Celtics’ series victory (Boston beat LA in the 2008 Finals, 4-2) and the Lakers were hell-bent on revenge.

The Lakers had won the 2009 title over the woeful Orlando Magic — I mean, Orlando literally was swept away.

    Boston? Not so much.

This series was won by scratching, clawing, and holding on to dear life on both teams.

    More from LA Sports Hub

After falling in Game 1, Boston stormed back to win three of the next four before the Lakers topped the Celtics in Game 6 and Game 7 to win another championship banner.

    This time in Staples Center.

They, of course, had won the previous year and brought one home but this time it was ten times sweeter because of who they got it against.

It’s the most recent title courtesy of the Lakers and still stands as Phil Jackson and Kobe Bryant’s last championship.

We can only hope we get to see Kobe Bryant go out with one more bang like this at the end of next season.
