J.J. Redick’s Comments On The Clippers’ Free Agency Fiasco Don’t Help

J.J. Redick reportedly would give the Clippers an ‘F’ if he had to grade their free agency situation — should he be making those comments about his own team?

The LA Clippers seriously can’t catch a break.

First it was blowing a big playoff lead against the Houston Rockets to end their season, then DeAndre Jordan ditched them to go to the Dallas Mavericks, and now J.J. Redick wants the world to know that the Clippers’ nightmare is coming true.

Redick would reportedly go as far as to question if he can give his own team an F-, which isn’t helping and only adds insult to injury.

Or does he have a point?

When the Clippers shifted their focus and put Doc Rivers in the head coaching slot, a lot was expected to change.

But not for the worse.

What this does to Rivers is raise his dilemma to a valley of do or die and it won’t be pretty if the Clippers don’t find a way to kick some serious butt in 2016.

From experts and fan analysis alike, there have been a lot of comparisons between the Clippers and the Golden State Warriors, at least in the way that they play the game.

But, unfortunately for LA, that praise takes a different face and shape with part of Lob City leaving town in Jordan’s departure.

  • And if you can’t compete with the Warriors, good luck to you if you’re part of the Western Conference.

Blake Griffin is going to need to have an even bigger role in the Clippers offense to fill Jordan’s void unless LA can get someone from another team to help them out.

From the perimeter, the Clippers are going to be more motivated than ever.

It’s no surprise that Chris Paul will be coming into next season looking to be better than next season and perhaps the best play of his entire career.

The thing about Chris Paul’s perspective that we should all take note of, whether you’re a fan of his or not, is that if 2016 doesn’t end in locker room champagne and the Larry O’Brien trophy, Paul could cement his legacy as one of the best players to never win a title.

And there’s no better way to describe that than bittersweet.

Paul came to Los Angeles to do nothing but win a championship.

His days in New Orleans became numbered after it was obvious he wasn’t happy and the team wasn’t really gelling with him — we can only hope something to that end doesn’t start to unravel with the red, white, and blue.

Bottom Line: Lob City could turn into Sob City if they’re not careful

In hindsight, Redick’s comments probably weren’t intended to disrupt or divide his team, but that’s what they have the potential to do.

And the last thing anyone wants is a negative, nagging co-worker.
