Paul Pierce Has Already Gotten To See The Best Of Both Worlds
By Keith Rivas
First Paul Pierce was booed at Dodger Stadium, but then he came home to Inglewood for cheers and a warm welcome.
As any player kicking off a new chapter of their basketball life with a new team would do, Paul Pierce is attempting to make the rounds at various venues in SoCal to formally introduce himself.
What’s weird is that it’s a culture, city, and fan base that hated him for the longest time when he was part of the Boston Celtics.
Pierce is trying to take his legacy to an even higher crescendo, surrounding himself with a team with nothing short of championship hunger.

Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan all know that they can contend for a title when they’re all playing at their best.
Doc Rivers looked for a while like he’d been trying to find the right way to gel with the rest of his team and make an impression that would leave fans of the Clippers proud and bewildered at the same time.
So far, it’s safe to say that he’s only accomplished the later.
With one of his big championship pieces from not so long ago back in town, it might be time to start taking Doc Rivers much more seriously.
After all, they are part of Boston’s finest — that means accepting the enemy as your own even if it feels funny.
Because with that mentality, the Clippers might actually find themselves closer to hoisting up the Larry O’Brien trophy.
Otherwise, everything could easily fall apart and crumble like last year.
Wouldn’t that be beautiful for Laker fans?
The next two years will be two of the most crucial in Clippers’ basketball history.
Never have they had such a golden opportunity with the Lakers down and out of the title conversation for at least the next couple of seasons.
And to think they are coming so close to blowing it and watch the window close shut is sad but the truth.
Another big reason that Clippers fans might want to get their whole honeymoon with Paul Pierce going sooner rather than later is that if he’s able to do anything like what he did with the Washington Wizards, LA will be in more than good hands.
They’ll be in victorious ones.
Yeah, sure, Pierce was going crazy and calling games on the last possession — but it was the Eastern Conference.
So what?
Your argument of “it’s the weakest conference” falls apart when you consider the fact that Pierce was doing it against an Atlanta Hawks team ranked better than LeBron James‘ Cavaliers.
That same Cavs team that gave the Golden State Warriors a run for their money at times — yeah, those teams.
There’s no question that if the Washington Wizards had gotten past the Hawks and not fallen in the series 4-2, Paul Pierce would’ve had no issue taking his talents straight to LeBron’s face.
And he might have even come out on top.
Bottom Line: Lob City is done losing big games.
Pierce’s antics and energy will be much-needed as the Spurs, Warriors, and even the Thunder are all in position to make a run for it all one last time.
It’s time the Clippers got their game face on.
