Kevin Hogan stands as perhaps the most experienced of field generals in the Pac-12.
He has a 24-8 starting record as the Stanford Cardinal QB, and his stats include passing for 6,518 yards and 48 touchdowns, while rushing for 913 yards and nine touchdowns.
Although, 6 of Hogan’s losses have come vs. top 25 teams, he also has 11 wins vs. top 25 teams as well.
The comparisons and being in the shadow of Andrew Luck will never likely be avoided when it comes to Kevin Hogan’s legacy at Stanford.
Wins over a then number 1 Oregon team will emphasize Hogan’s greatness, but losses to Notre Dame and USC will haunt Hogan. Thus, Hogan’s tenure at Stanford will always be a mixed bag.

Another Hogan attribute is HOW he wins. His 2,792 yards passing, 19 TDs, and 8 interceptions, are not the flashiest of stats. Truth be told Kevin Hogan and the Stanford Cardinals win pretty ugly. But, he gets the job done.
And, with Oregon attempting to fill in their void at quarterback, Hogan has a great opportunity to sneak away in his senior season with the Pac-12 North title.
But, don’t expect a flashy 3,000 yard passing year for Hogan. It’s simply not his style….nor David Shaw‘s Stanford Cardinals.
