Dodgers 2015 Postseason Outlook

We have finally reached the month of September, which signifies that the 2015 MLB regular season is coming to an end, and the postseason is right around the corner.

For the Dodgers, this time of the year should be taken seriously, and games should be won for the Dodgers with their explosive offense, and defense, as well as great pitching from the starting rotation, and in the bullpen.

Unfortunately, the Dodgers have been plagued with injuries all year long, and still are struggling to stay healthy.

But for a team worth around $300 million, this shouldn’t be an issue.

Just think of this, the Dodgers are ranked 9th in Forbes list of The World’s 50 Most Valuable Sports Teams 2015.

So with a team that has this much money, and having invested in making a team to finally bring a World Series trophy back to the city of Los Angeles, there should be all sorts of momentum abounding.

The Dodgers as a team have so much depth all around the field, and in their farm system, but they just haven’t played like a powerhouse team with all this depth.

Now, I’m not saying they’ve been horrible, because the Dodgers have stayed in first place in the NL West since May 30 after they struggled early in the season.

Which is ridiculously good when you really sit down and think about it.

In a regular season there is 162 games for each team, and the Dodgers have already played 131 of those games.

The Dodgers have only been out of first place in the NL West for only 11 games of the season.

And out of those 11 games, ten of those games were at the beginning of the season.

Since April 18th, the Dodgers have only been out of first place once, and that was on May 29th when the Giants lead the Dodgers by 1/2 a game, but re-took first place in the NL West on May 30th.

Ever since then, the Dodgers have stood a top the NL West, as they look forward to October, and their third consecutive NL West title.

With October approaching, the Dodgers season isn’t over yet.

The Dodgers still have 31 more games to go with 25 of those games against teams in the NL West, and the other six games against their hometown rivals, the Angels, and the Pirates, who our hot for October right now.

As of right now, the Dodgers sit 5.5 games ahead of the Giants, and look to sweep the Giants tonight to increase their lead and give them some space to breath.

A sweep of the Giants would bring some confidence to a team who has struggled to beat the Giants all year, and get the Dodgers in a mindset of October baseball.

The closer the Giants our to the Dodgers in the NL West standings, the better chance the Giants have to pass the Dodgers, and with the two wild card spots up from grabs.

Both teams would be looking to not play in a win or go home playoff game.

After Kershaw’s words, I believe it sparked the Dodgers clubhouse, because the Dodgers went on a 5-game winning streak, and have only lost 1 out of the 7 games they played, since Kershaw’s comments.

For the Dodgers, if they keep doing what they’ve done in their last seven games for the rest of the season.

They’ll be heading into October as a hot team, which is something you have to do, in order to make it to the World Series.

Just look at the two teams in the World Series from last year. Both the Giants and Royals got hot at the end of the season, and into the playoffs, which carried them to the big stage.

In order for the Dodgers, to be like on of those hot team is to keep doing what they’ve been doing, but they need to get healthy, and need their bullpen to act like a bullpen, and close out games the right way.

I also want to put it out there, that if the Dodgers don’t win the World Series this year.

I don’t think I’m the only person who thinks this, but Don Mattingly must be fired, because their is nothing holding back the Dodgers.
