USC Trojans Completely Destroy Idaho Vandals

The weekend has finally come, and that means it’s time for football.

With the NFL officially opening on Thursday, we a wait for the rest of the games on Sunday and Monday, but today is Saturday.

Which means it’s time for USC Trojans football!

The Trojans opened their season with a big win against Arkansas State Red Wolves last Saturday, and look to continue their dominance from last week to this weekend.

For the Trojans, they’ll play at home for the second straight game against the Idaho Vandals.

This game for the Trojans should be a tune up game for them as they get ready for Stanford, who always give the Trojans a run for their money.

According to the Vegas Insiders Consensus, the Trojans are favored to beat Idaho by 44 points with an over/under score of 66.5.

So, for football gamblers, and Trojans fans, it would’ve been in your best interest to take the Trojans over Idaho.

When the game got under way, it didn’t take long for Cody Kessler and the offense to go down the field, and get the first score of the game.

The Trojans took a total of 7 plays for 75 yards.

For a Justin Davis 1-yard touchdown run, which took only took 2:08 out of the 15 minutes of the first quarter.

With a 7-0 lead for the Trojans.

The Trojans defense started the game strong, forcing Idaho to punt the ball after a three and out on their first possession.

USC responded with another touchdown drive, which ended with a 7-yard run from Justin Davis, for his second touchdown run of the game.

This drive took 1:53 for 6 plays for 78 yards.

From that time, the Trojans dominated the first quarter both on offense and defense.

With the Vandals unable to stop the Trojans on offense.

The Vandals decided to get something cooking at the end of the first quarter, as Matt Linehan lead the Vandals to their first red zone possession.

Which lead the Vandals to their first points of the game, with an Austin Rehkow 20-yard field goal in the beginning of the second quarter.

Trojans lead 21-3.

From there on, the Trojans continued their dominance on both sides of the ball.

As the Trojans continued to add on to their lead, as they added two more touchdowns, and a field goal by halftime.

Which was in sync with a great USC defense, that left the Vandals unable to get any points on the board.

At half time the Trojans lead 38-3.

Cody Kessler lead the pass game going 18/23 for 270 yards and a TD.

More from LA Sports Hub

On the other side of the pass game, JuJu Smith-Schuster lead the way with 139 receiving yards, and a touchdown.

Justin Davis got the Trojans run game going early with the first two touchdowns of the game, and had 74 yards by halftime.

Tre Madden continued his great running from last week, with two more touchdowns in tonight’s game, and ran for 40 yards by halftime.

Both running backs did not play in the second half, and ended the game with the same stats at halftime.

With as big of a lead the Trojans had, you would pretty some up the game as a win.

In the second half, Idaho got thing going early with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Matt Linehan for six points, but didn’t get the seven points that you usually see with a touchdown, as the extra point got blocked.

Cody Kessler responded with a 28 yard touchdown pass to Isaac Whitney.

Trojans lead 52-9.

With the game far from a comeback for Idaho.

The Trojans opted to put the backups in at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

USC still continued to score, and beat their second opponent of the season 59-9.

My takeaway’s from the Trojans play.

The offensive line has gotten better in the pass protection, and in run blocking.

The Trojans run game is as young, and as good as anybody in the country with the committee of Justin Davis, Tre Madden, Ronald Jones II, and others.

The Cody Kessler and JuJu Smith-Schuster connection is deadly.

The defense is still solid for the Trojans, but need to create turnovers, and clean up the tackling.

If Cody Kessler continues to play like he’s played in the last two games, and the run game continues to thrive.

USC could lean on their offense to lead them to the National Championship Game.
