NFL to LA: St. Louis Rams Will Have Smooth Transition

The St. Louis Rams are ready to put the NFL to LA hype to rest and turn it into some quality Southern California football.

As it stands right now, the Rams sit in a three-way tie for second place in the NFC West with a 1-2 record.

The Arizona Cardinals took the beginning of the season by storm and are out to a 3-0 record, so it’ll be interesting to see if they can hold on to that lead.

For what it’s worth, the Rams have shown us the good, bad, and ugly in just three games thus far, and they’ll have the chance to turn it around this Sunday as they face the Cardinals.

What does that mean for the football they’d bring to Los Angeles, though?

Glad you asked.

The Rams share a serious desire with Los Angeles to win a championship — and to win it soon.

With the transition to the city of angels, the Rams would join the ranks of the Lakers, Clippers, Kings, Ducks, Dodgers, and the Angels.

Many of which have either won a recent title in their respective sport, or they’ve at least been a part of the contender conversation late in the season or the playoffs.

And for a team like the Rams, that’s nothing but music to their ears.

Sure, it feels like within the context of 2015, St. Louis might not see the playoffs — especially given how competitive the NFC is in all — but Los Angeles very well could.

A fresh start could prove to be the missing link to the Rams’ success in the NFL.

A new stadium, revived fan base, and re-shaped mentality would give the Rams all of that and then some.

A large part of the Rams’ large potential was the switch at the quarterback position from Sam Bradford to Nick Foles, formerly a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bradford was too prone to injuries as a member of the Rams, and plainly didn’t pan out to be the franchise quarterback that the fans expected him to be.

With Nick Foles, while he might not be the perfect quarterback, he provides a fresh face to add to the new start.

Chip Kelly’s motto throughout his tenure with the Eagles has been an ideology revolving around new, so that has it’s perks as well.

The way that the fans factor into all of this, should they indeed move to LA, is that they’ll help the team stay positive through the harder times.

Like several other fan bases, they love to cheer on a winning team.

But what Los Angeles provides the opportunity for is fans that are loyal and stick with their team through the rougher waters.

Bottom Line: LA is ready to show the Rams some love.

Once those pieces fall into place, it’s all or nothing for the Rams.

Maybe even championship or bust — time will tell us that part of the story.
