No matter how bad the teams might be in any given season, having an inner-city rivalry is never something to complain too much about.

While against the Clippers, the Lakers haven’t had much luck as of late either, there’s always pride on the line for who best represents Los Angeles in the NBA.

For the longest time, the Lakers were thought to be the only team that could thrive in the spotlight, and so far they’ve still outshone the Clippers despite their on court performance.

Since the Clippers haven’t been able to take full advantage of being the better team on paper with deep playoff runs or an NBA title, the Lakers still have a shot to douse the flames of their rivals before things get out of control.

This is another match up where the Lakers have the edge if you look at the all-time stats, but in the last three seasons combined, the Clippers have only fallen to the Lakers once.

And that was back in October of 2013.

Now that there’s new talent on the Lakers roster, the rivalry can be expected to get better as time goes on.

And trust me — the Lakers are still pretty bitter about the league not letting Chris Paul come to them, but to the Clippers instead.

That’s not just something you forget.
