The 2015-2016 NHL season has already given us the gift of fantastic performances from the guys in between the pipes. While every fan comes to see the spectacular goals, it’s the mind-bending saves that get’s the people out of their seats. With that, we’ve compiled a list of the most impressive saves from the current season, so far.

#10. Tuukka Rask

Earlier this season, the Boston Bruins were considering selling some of their veteran players as a rebuild was seemingly in the works. Well, Tuukka Rask and the rest of the Bruins have certainly sped up that process as they’ve jumped out to a fantastic start.

#9. Pekka Rinne

Pekka Rinne is no stranger to making huge saves. Here, you can watch the Finnish goalie absolutely rob Coyotes rookie Max Domi. Domi has been one of the best rookies to break into the NHL this season, but Rinne couldn’t care less.

#8. Steve Mason

While Steve Mason has gotten off to an inconsistent start in 2015-2016, there’s no denying his glove here as he takes a sure goal away from Bruins forward David Pastrnak. If the Flyers are going to make any significant noise this season, it’s Mason who will need to stand on his head with saves like this.

#7. Sergei Bobrovsky

Former Vezina trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky hasn’t exactly blown the world away as he and the Blue Jackets started the season an abysmal 0-9, however, that doesn’t mean that the goalie they call “Bob” doesn’t have the skill to turn things around.

#6: Ben Bishop

Steven Stamkos might grab all the headlines of hockey super stardom in Tampa, but Ben Bishop has been a solid goaltender for the Lightning. It’s save like this one here that helped take the Lightning back to the Stanley Cup Final, and it’s reason to consider Tampa a contender so long as Bishop is between the pipes.

#5: Jonas Hiller

The Flames goaltending has been so miserable this season, I almost forgot that this majestic save happen. Not to mention the ridiculous move that Connor McDavid puts on display here, but Jonas Hiller responds with a save of the year candidate for sure.

#4: Kevin ShattenkirkJake Allen

Technically, it wasn’t the goaltender that made this save but who care? This play is absolutely ridiculous. Kevin Shattenkirk gives new meaning to the term desperation and hand-eye coordination. This has probably been my favorite save of the season so far.

#3: Corey Crawford

All you need to do is watch Taylor Hall react to this unbelievable save. As a goal-scorer, its easy to get an idea when your shots enter the net. Neither Hall nor myself believed what Corey Crawford was able to do. Pure highway robbery at it’s finest.

#2: Carey Price

If you want to talk about the definition of an MVP take Carey Price as the prime example. There’s a big reason why the Montreal Canadiens have fallen off the map and he wears #31 and can usually be found making saves like this on a day-to-day basis.

#1: Henrik Lundqvist

There’s not a lot I can say about Henrik Lundqvist that his highlight reel won’t do a better job of displaying. Every season, Lundqvist can be counted on to have at least one save in the conversation for save of the year, and wouldn’t you know it, he’s here again.
