Per an ESPN report, the LA Dodgers have re-signed second baseman Howie Kendrick to a 2-year, $20 million contract.

The second baseman and the ball club made the playoffs this past year.

They lost to the eventual-World Series runner-ups, the New York Mets; a young team with a great pitching core that with offense will make a run again in 2016.

For the Dodgers, the re-signing of Kendrick, even if he only he stays for two years, is good because it shows signs of stability, function, assertiveness, organization for the club.

With his re-signing, other players on the club with expiring contracts will want to stay and play with him after a disappointing end to the season.

The LA Dodgers made a good run but couldn’t get past the Mets.

  • This signing also signifies stability on the defense and proves to fans that this team needs defense and he is their leader on defense alongside Yasiel Puig.

Even with his off field issues, if he can calm himself  down that will help them tremendously.

A question to ask is, does the organization need to scout fro players in this off-season and make trades or acquire players off of waivers or do they need to play with more grit, determination, passion, heart, confidence?

My answer to this question is just pick up one or two home run players who will help out with scoring runs and stealing bases.

They do need to play with more of all those characteristics as well.

The off-season is perfect for them to practice an draft their talents and work together in unison and build chemistry.

With two players like this combined with their defense the LA Dodgers will be built to make deep playoff runs and win championships.

They won their division, had the second best record in the National League, and the fourth best record overall in all of the MLB.

With the football LA Rams coming back to town, the NHL LA Kings, basketball LA Clippers doing good this season the LA Dodgers will be good and motivated because they will want to help bring the city of LA back to life.

In the year of 2016 they sports teams of the city of LA will be motivated to be and do great and give the fans a reason to cheer for them.

One move I think will be good for the baseball is trade a draft pick to team who has a great base-runner.

With this move they will be a complete team who could make the World Series in 2016.
