Allowing For The Process
It hasn’t been pretty in the last couple of seasons for the Lakers, but after getting the second overall pick in consecutive years, a lot of the rough part is over and the fun can now begin.
Ingram brings a dedicated work ethic to the table and looks nothing like a potential bust.

While Los Angeles isn’t ever guaranteed anything outside of the regular season, especially next year with as rough as the Western Conference will be, not having to rely on a pick within the top three on draft night will be a nice feeling.
Building off of the energy from last year’s pick in D’Angelo Russell and the youth movement that the Lakers have put at the forefront of their priority list will be key for Ingram’s transition to the professional level to go as expected, if not better.
Grabbing players from the draft that are expected to be above and beyond cornerstones for the long term is a place that the team looks uncomfortable in, and that is mainly stemmed from being so used to and groomed for success.
I mean, you don’t just become one of the most storied teams in professional sports overnight, right?
