For Atlanta not to be embarrassed in the playoffs again at the hands of Cleveland, or any other team for that matter, they’re going to have to see what they can get from a full-time gig in Dennis Schroder.

Schroder will take over at point guard after the team decided to part ways with Jeff Teague.

The three year star has a career average of less than nine points per game, but will be given the keys to a team that could be dangerous under the right circumstances.

Losing Al Horford in free agency to the Boston Celtics doesn’t help their cause, but the addition of Dwight Howard may be beneficial.

Key word being may.

Howard was thought to be the missing piece to a dynasty in Los Angeles when he joined the Lakers, but as history would indicate, the exact opposite happened.

Drama ensued and it made for an ugly exit for a guy that has a Finals appearance as a member of the Orlando Magic on his resume.

His time in Atlanta could easily be looked at as hitting the reset button, but that’s not always a good thing.

Paul Millsap, Kyle Korver, and Kent Bazemore all have personalities — this team should be fun to watch, but not championship material.

Season Prediction: (42-40), 3rd in Southeast
