Ex-USC QB Max Browne is transferring to Pittsburgh
Max Browne, a former USC Trojans quarterback, will transfer to Pittsburgh.
Max Browne was the starter for the first three games before the Trojans got rolling. In the season opener against the University of Alabama, Browne didn’t do horrible, yet he didn’t do great.
Both quarterbacks played in that game as the Trojans were embarrassed by the Crimson Tide.
Offensively, USC did decent for having a new quarterback at the helm and with their coach in his official first year as the USC head coach.
On the defensive side of the ball that is where Alabama scored half of their points. Browne is hoping to renew his career at Pittsburgh.
Max Browne threw for 101 yards completing 14 of 29 passes throwing just 1 interception.
Then when Sam Darnold came in he only completed 4 of 8 passes for a total of 29 yards.
Neither quarterback threw a touchdown pass. The Trojans offense cold have done much better, yet they did decent against the defending National Champions.
Only if they had scored three touchdowns they would have cut the lead down to 21, yet their defense didn’t help them allowing 6 total touchdowns.
Now imagine if the defense prevented three of those touchdowns and the USC Trojans offense scored three touchdowns they would have only lost by a field goal.
These statistics in this game goes to show that Max Browne did fine before he lost his starting job and he did okay against Alabama. Their defense didn’t help them at all giving up a plethora of touchdowns.
Ultimately the difference maker in this game was Alabama’s offense firing on all cylinders and their defense not allowing touchdowns just field goals.
