Final. 93. 20. 110. 149

After an All-Star game with no Lakers participants, the second half of the season got off on the wrong foot.

Oklahoma City came out to play against Los Angeles, but more specifically the wow factor was Russell Westbrook. Triple-doubles are his clear-cut forte, and Friday night was no different.

It took less than twenty minutes for the potential league MVP to secure his 28th triple-double of the season.

Putting up monster numbers is great for the former UCLA star, but not so great for the young Lakers. After doing some serious shuffling in their front office, the Lakers have a lot of questions to answer.

Getting to another championship is one concern, while growing the current team chemistry should be another. Having the young core play well together on the floor will only go as far as their relationship with each other does.

After all, it’s the Lakers that should know by now what can happen if fame gets to any one player’s head.

Instead, Friday night was just another serving of disarray.

Corey Brewer got to play in his first game with the purple and gold, scoring four points.

One silver lining for the Lakers, however, was the improved play of their own point guard, D’Angelo Russell. The former second overall pick led the team in scoring with 29 points along with six assists and four rebounds.

Noteworthy also was the fact that Luke Walton did not let Timofey Mozgov play. The ex-Cleveland center was the original starter with Los Angeles when the season began.

As things have changed elsewhere in the franchise, it seems that the big man shoes have been handed over to Tarik Black until further notice.
