Jonathon Simmons

Next on the list is less-experienced Jonathon Simmons. After making a splash in San Antonio to start the season, a new opportunity in Los Angeles could bring some more power out of his game.

Simmons doesn’t stun with his numbers, though, putting up just six points, two rebounds, and two assists per contest.

Where the Lakers could utilize him instead is to add to the presence they lacked from both Luol Deng and Timofey Mozgov.

Although Simmons has just a year under his belt, he’s 27 years old. That could give the Lakers some strong maturity in the locker room and on the court, despite the statistics not being jaw-dropping.

It’s what they expected from Deng and Mozgov, so as long as the front office stays smart with how much they spend, why not give Simmons a shot?
