NBA Free Agency 2017: Five potential landing spots for Blake Griffin
By Keith Rivas
Los Angeles Clippers
There’s always the chance that he returns to the Clippers. One thing to keep in mind if this happens, however, is that the core he was a part of won’t be the same.
It doesn’t matter if they all return, the atmosphere will be completely different. Chris Paul returning wouldn’t be a shocker, but other stars might be on their way out.
There’s no question that the team’s blown playoff pursuits in the last few years have chiseled away some of the better years their core will see. One of those big names being center DeAndre Jordan.

Although on contract through the end of the 2018-19 season, a player option in 2018 means that there’s not much time left for him before hitting the market.
At that point in his career, assuming the Clippers haven’t figured out how to win — or at least make the conference finals — good luck convincing him to stay.
The reason that is crucial to whether or not Griffin comes back is for a similar reason. He’ll be wanting to play somewhere that he can play long term and likely finish his career. Griffin wants to be a major factor, but he’ll also likely have to do something different so that he doesn’t miss time due to injury in the postseason.
It’s not helping his case.
