NBA Free Agency 2017: Five potential destinations for Chris Paul
By Keith Rivas
Los Angeles Clippers
Like the scenario with Blake Griffin, there’s always the chance that the star returns. If he does, he’ll have $24 million waiting for him as he’d finish out the last year of his contract.
There is a possibility for the Clippers to bring in other stars to fill the roles of the current core. If that happens, it could be a reason that Paul doesn’t leave.

As much as he’d want to get out of the haze at some point, putting a ton of talent around him on a team that he’s been playing for puts the ball in your court. What the Clippers have to do in order to stand out from the others trying to get Paul’s attention is let him know that they’re not going to just roll over and die.
In order to compete with the Clippers, Chris Paul knows that his ultimate enemy for the foreseeable future is the Golden State Warriors. Los Angeles was the last team to eliminate Golden State before Cleveland did it in last year’s championship series.
Staying in LA would be an interesting choice for a guy that wants to win but might not ever see the promised land if he stays put.
