The latest Lakers rumors include sharpshooter J.J. Redick.

If there’s anything that the Lakers rumors need to address this time around, it’s their scoring ability. Now that we know the Clippers aren’t really able to move on with the core they’ve had in place, chances are that they’ll blow it up.

One of the consequences of that, at least for the Clippers, is losing J.J. Redick. The market will be good for Redick, who can be the scorer that teams like the Lakers could use.

Also, if the Lakers do end up with a new point guard like Lonzo Ball, Redick would be that off the ball scorer to help D’Angelo Russell out at the two.

After signing a four year deal in 2013, Redick’s contract is finally up and open for business.

This last season with the Clippers, he averaged 15 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. It would fit very well with the Lakers, and could give them a preview of what it’ll be like with a star in the mix of the young core.

Magic Johnson has been saying for a while he’s ready to bring big names to LA. One of the bigger ones, obviously, has been Paul George.

However, while that might sound great right away and make the fans happier quicker, shouldn’t they want to know their core can handle a superstar first?

Big names like Dwight Howard and Steve Nash took their talents to Los Angeles. It didn’t mesh well, and that’s always a possibility when signing mega talent in the NBA.

Los Angeles can’t afford to let their chemistry suffer in Magic Johnson’s first off-season as president. Redick would be an in-between from young talent to superstar.
