It’s Ryan Getzlaf or nothing for the Anaheim Ducks now.

Ryan Getzlaf had probably his best playoff game of his career; willing the Ducks back and leading them to a 4-3 overtime win.  Hewas involved in every Ducks goal.

Scoring two goals(for the first time in the playoffs) and getting two assists.

By virtue of his performance, Getzlaf also passed former Ducks great Teemu Selanne as the all-time leading goal scorer.  Getzlaf also accumulated his 112th point in his 112th playoff game.

In the 2nd period Getzlaf put the team on his back. He scored a goal 97 seconds into the period.

Then, he made the assist on the game tying goal by winger Ricky Rackell.  Getzlaf’s best move came on the go-ahead goal when he knocked the puck off Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins stick and into the goal for the 3-2 lead.

The Ducks tried to hold on their lead in the 3rd period and needed some big saves from goalie John Gibson, but the Oilers pulled their goalie late in the period and got the tying goal thanks to Drake Caggiula sending the game to overtime.

In the overtime, Getzlaf wasted no time putting his stamp in the game. This came on an interception that got an untouched Jacob Silfverberg in front of the Oilers net. Silfverberg easily buried the game winning goal just 45 seconds after the overtime started.

With his 4th point Getzlaf put himself in second place of the playoffs leaderboard with 13.  Getzlaf has been doing this while avaeraging 23 minutes of ice time the most by a forward still in the playoffs.  His overall performance shows just how much Getzlaf has kept the Ducks going in these playoffs.

With the series now tied at 2-all, the series is now the best of 3.  So far neither team has won a home game and if the Ducks are going to want to win this series they’ll have to that eventually.

There is no doubt that Getzlaf will be ready to go in game 5, and Ducks fans will be privileged to see their captain put out another great performance.
