Andre Iguodala

To think that they could be in play for one of the Warriors isn’t as crazy as it might sound. Andre Iguodala, out of all of the current players on Golden State, could be the one to leave.

More from LA Sports Hub

The 13-year veteran spent his first eight seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. Between there and the time he’s spent with Golden State (four seasons), he played with Denver for one year.

For the Warriors, the ultimate focus will be making sure that Stephen Curry doesn’t go anywhere. They also have to find a way to guarantee Kevin Durant stays longer if they want to remain in contention for as long as possible.

When the team acquired Durant in free agency a year ago, they didn’t get a long term deal done. After Curry re-signs, which is expected, giving Durant more money is the way for them to do business.

What that means is that older free agents like Iguodala might not be the financial priority. Not that they’d take it to heart, really, but they want to get paid too. So long as they don’t overpay like the situation with Mozgov and with Deng, there’s no reason for the Lakers not to shoot their shot.

It’d be a reunion between him and his former assistant in Luke Walton, too.
