Closing Thoughts

Whatever decisions teams make at and before the draft, there is always one ultimate goal in mind — winning a championship. Some teams, like the Lakers, have a little ways to go before reaching that tier.

Ultimately, the first five picks are what teams in those slots hope to be franchise players.

Boston starts off the madness. Los Angeles can make it even crazier.

Phoenix and Minnesota are also in a crucial phase. Whoever they select will affect their future for a long way down the road. Both the Suns and Timberwolves have a young core, but not enough to get out of the regular season.

This draft will finally tell us when the changing of the guard will happen.
