Three point guards as well, but that’s not what they’ll need from this draft.
Drama with Ricky Rubio in recent seasons will come and go. Whether or not he remains in Minnesota is still to be determined, but if he doesn’t, it’s not the end of the world.
In that case, it’d be up to Kris Dunn to run the show.
Picking up a point guard that can add depth to a position left currently to Zach LaVine since Brandon Rush is now a free agent.
It’s a move that makes a lot of sense for Minnesota, but one nobody’s been talking about because of the absurd point guard talent in this year’s draft class. Picking up Donovan Mitchell will give the Wolves that much more of a shot at being legitimate sooner than later.
They are not going to to win a lot, especially in the Western Conference, with eight big men on the team and little to no guard depth. That facet of their franchise needs to change with this draft selection.
Mitchell averaged 15.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists last season with Louisville.
