PG. UCLA. Lonzo Ball. 3. player. 93.

Before you freak out that Lonzo Ball isn’t staying in Los Angels, hear me out. While he had a lot of success in his one year with the Bruins, there’s plenty of red flags that may not do so well in the NBA.

Especially under the bright lights of Los Angeles.

More from LA Sports Hub

Playing with the Lakers as they are means you bring talent to the table and help add to their young core. They’re not looking for anything extra.

The biggest question mark is his father, LaVar, who has continually been vocal with controversial comments and questionable statements.

It’s not something the young core in Los Angeles is ready for, and although Magic Johnson doesn’t see it affecting Lonzo’s draft stock, their patience would run thin rather quickly.

As for Philadelphia, they’re in a position where they can be really, really good after this draft. So long as their main players stay healthy, they’ll have Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Dario Saric as their go-to stars.

At point guard, T.J. McConnell hasn’t been bad, but drafting Lonzo Ball would give him fair competition for the starting job. Whatever the Sixers can do to pick up the pace as a franchise is something they should be open to doing, and Ball has the talent to do that.

They’ll be much better with a true facilitator, while also putting LaVar Ball in his place all with one decision. Lonzo Ball has to be open to wherever he ends up being drafted, not just with the Lakers.

It’s a win win win for everyone in the long run, including Lonzo.
