Dodgers Rumors: Which players should the Dodgers call-up next?
By Jason Reed
Charlie Culberson – SS, 3B
2017 AAA Stats: 235 AVG, 2 HR, 9 RBI
Charlie Culberson is by no means a fantastic player, as evident by his AAA stat line. However, the infielder is a solid contributor that has seen time at the big league level. While the Dodgers did not need Culberson to start the season, with Justin Turner going down with injury, it may be time for the infielder to make a return.

If Culberson’s name does not ring a bell to you, you may better recognize him for hitting the home run that clinched the National League West last season, oh yeah, that was also Vin Scully’s last game ever at Dodger stadium. That was Culberson’s last at-bat as a Dodger, outside of spring training, and he deserves his shot at the bigs.
Especially with Turner out, it makes all the sense in the world to bring Culberson up to make some spot starts at third base. Last night Enrique Hernandez made the start, but a much better fielding Culberson would benefit the Dodgers greatly.
Despite having a mediocre stat line this season, last year Culberson did manage to bat .299 in 34 games with the Dodgers, that’s something!
Los Angeles certainly needs more depth on the other side of second base, even more so after Turner’s injury. Corey Seager lacks a true backup shortstop, and now, the Dodgers are scrambling to find someone to play third on a nightly basis. Bringing Culberson in would help ease this process for the time being.
Overall, there are quite a few guys that can get called up to the big leagues and contribute now. According to these Dodgers rumors, we may see Masterson, Dickson, or Culberson on the Dodgers in no time.
