Dodgers in unfamiliar place behind Arizona, Colorado
By Keith Rivas
For the Dodgers, this is not where they wanted to be at this point in the season.
There’s no problem with having a few issues mid-season to take care of, but the Dodgers have a few right now. Every MLB team has something they could improve on, obviously.
But for Los Angeles, they’re a team that’s used to not being threatened outside of San Francisco, especially this early on.

As it stands currently, the Dodgers are in third place in their division. Both the Diamondbacks and Rockies have an edge over them, with Colorado leading the way.
Just past the quarter mark of the season, this should be a bit of a humbling moment for Los Angeles. Sure, they’re only two games back of first place, but they have the kind of depth and overall team that’s expected to dominate.
For talk of a World Series run to pick up, the Dodgers need a couple of things to work out in their favor. First on that list is winning the NL West..
Also, they’re not the only supposed super power that is struggling. In the NL Central, defending champion Chicago is also third place behind Milwaukee.
It is crucial moving forward that their offense picks up. Surprisingly, most of the weight thus far has been carried by the bats of Yasiel Puig and Justin Turner.
But after Turner recently suffered an injury, that could all change.
Ultimately, the x-factor in this entire scenario is whether or not the Dodgers let their past get to them mentally.
