D’Angelo Russell

Before the end of the list, they’ll have to find out what they want to do with their top 2015 draft pick. Selected second overall that summer, Russell will be entering his third year in the NBA.

Since coming into the league, it’s debatable as to whether or not he’s worth it for the team to keep him. For some fans, they haven’t seen enough from him. Others say that he deserves a little longer of a leash.

For this situation, it seems that the Lakers will take it day by day. The thing about Russell is that they’ll receive decent trade opportunities, but where they’ll pull the trigger isn’t for sure yet.

Unlike Ingram, Russell’s not exactly safe in terms of job security. If the team drafts a point guard this time around, he’ll either be moving to shooting guard or be unsure of his fit.

And that’s not good — at least for him.

Although he could thrive somewhere outside of Los Angeles, a trade may put his development back a little bit. Reason being that at that point he’ll have to figure out a whole new environment and go from there.

But he was on the market even last season.

As much as some fans might like him, they shouldn’t count on him making it through the season with the Lakers just yet.
