Ivica Zubac

Last but not least is 2016 second round pick Ivica Zubac. The center has been decent in his rookie season, with the team hoping for more improvement in year two.

Similar to Ingram, since he’s the focus player here, there’s not really a reason for them to trade Zubac. Teams may inquire about a deal, but the likelihood of it happening isn’t high.

The 20-year old averaged 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. If he can keep up those kinds of numbers, it’ll be good overall for the young core.

While fellow center Timofey Mozgov doubts that Zubac is already starter worthy, there’s a stronger case for it. With another rookie joining the fold from the draft, the Lakers would be wise to play all of their young players.

Why not put all your chips in one basket here?

Ingram will get more playing time, Russell will develop at a new position, so why not Zubac?

It is in the cards for next season to be a breakout year for the big man. He’s not going anywhere.
